Some cities live by the sea. Others thrive through sport. Albufeira is defined by both. It is this unique connection that inspired the visual identity of Albufeira'26 – European City of Sport. Drawing from the city's iconic star, we reimagined it in motion, transforming rigid lines into fluid curves inspired by the waves that shape the Algarve coastline every day. The result is a symbol that runs, jumps, swims, and evolves, just like the city itself.

The logotype gains further character through a custom-designed typeface, where subtle wave-inspired details within the letterforms reinforce the sense of movement and visually extend the identity's dynamic concept.

Blue naturally takes centre stage. It reflects the sea, the sky, and the light that make Albufeira recognised around the world. More than an aesthetic choice, it is a statement of the city's deep connection to its landscape, its identity, and the spirit that defines it.
